As Asif Gulamali sees it, “you miss 100% of the shots you don’t take”. This willingness to work hard and take chances has helped him succeed in his current role as Vice President of Business Banking with Capital One Bank, where he is responsible for managing businesses with annual revenues ranging from $5 million to $25 million. Asif also serves as the organization’s non-profit liaison for the Junior Achievement and Community Corps Council. He holds a bachelor’s in business management from the University of Phoenix.
Recently elected as the 2019 HYPE Chair, Asif has been part of HYPE’s leadership team since he first joined the program in 2014. His favorite things about Houston are the diversity and the food – you are most likely to find him at one of the city’s many top-rated restaurants (his favorite being B&B Butchers) or a local sporting event. An avid sports fan, he holds season tickets for both the Rockets and the Texans.
